g150 aircraft

G150 Aircraft - With its powerful and fuel-efficient engine, the Israeli-American Gulfstream G150 is one of the fastest midsize business jets in the world. It also boasts, the ability to fly non-stop between most US cities, and carry 7-9 passengers. Compared to its predecessor, the G100, the G150 is larger, sleeker and has wider windows in the G200 design, providing more room. The G150 is also notable for its generous storage space; 105 cubic meters (2.97 m3) in total.

US aircraft manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace, owned by General Dynamics, developed the G150 in 2005 in partnership with Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). Gulfstream acquired IAI's Astra series production line in 2001 and rebranded, changing the Astra SPX to the Gulfstream G100. While the Gulfstream 100 has better speed and size than any of its midsize competitors, the interior is smaller and less comfortable. Gulfstream's flagship redesign, the G150, corrected this problem and increased the cabin from 304 to 521 cubic feet (8.6 to 14.7 m3).

Gulfstream manufactured the G150 from 2005 to 2016, with the last aircraft delivered in 2017. In the G150's 11 years, a total of 123 were produced, and 119 of them are still in service. The aircraft is equipped with three seat configurations: The Executive, with a club section in the front and two seats in the rear cabin; the Universal, with a seat on the right, a bed on the left, and a club section with four seats behind; and the Hallmark - usually Universal with two seats on the right.

In 2001, Gulfstream's parent company General Dynamics purchased Galaxy Aerospace from Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI), and transferred the Astra and Galaxy aircraft rights to Gulfstream Aerospace. Instead of moving production to the United States, Gulfstream continued to operate the Galaxy plant in Tel Aviv, Israel, but flew the aircraft to their facility in Georgia for completion. The Israeli airliner also underwent a name change, with the IAI Astra becoming the G100, which lasted until 2006 when the G100 became the larger G150.

Retaining the essential design of the G100, the Gulfstream G150 has a longer and wider cabin. Avionics have also been updated, and the G150's engine is a Honeywell TFE731. In total, Gulfstream sold close to 120 G150s, but if you include the Astra/G100 in that number, it's closer to 325.

In recent years, Gulfstream has produced only a few G150s per year, focusing on the super midsize and large jet market. Prospective customers of the G150 are more likely to buy the twin-engine business jet, the 21 ft 4 in (6.5 m) G280, which carries 10 passengers. The last G150 was ordered in 2016, and delivered in 2017.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation was founded in 1958 in Bethpage, New York. Roy Grumman, co-founder of Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, wanted to take advantage of the knowledge his company had gained from building light and powerful fighter jets for World War II, to create a small business jet. . The first corporate jet, the Grumman Gulfstream GI, made its first flight on August 14, 1958.

In 1962, the Gulfstream GII became the first aircraft to cross the Atlantic, in 1966 Gulfstream separated from the Grumman brand and moved to private facilities in Savannah, Georgia, and in 1973 NASA began air training on two modified Gulfstream GIIs .

Over the past six years, the aircraft manufacturer has produced more than 2,000 aircraft, often serving government, corporate and military customers. Gulfstream aircraft include the Gulfstream IV-SP, which has a range of 4,220 nautical miles (allowing it to fly from New York to Frankfurt) and the Gulfstream V, which has a range of 6,500 nautical miles (New York to Tokyo). ).

When the Gulfstream G150 entered service in 2006, it sold for $13.5 million US. By the end of its run, in 2015-16, the figure had risen slightly to US$15.7 million.
