We all know that taking a child on a plane is a test of a parent's patience. Baby sleeping on a plane is just the stuff of dreams! Wouldn't it be great if there was an easy way to make a small bed on an airplane?!? Well, your prayers have been answered! Inflatable cribs for airplanes are now available. This is a plane seat that allows your little one to stretch and (most importantly) sleep on the plane.

When I first heard about inflatable pillows for airplane legs, I wanted to try one! That's when you ask, "Why didn't I think of that?" Is one of the inventions you think of? Such a simple idea and so clever! Of course, when Kushi Kids offered to send me one of their Kushi Kids cushions, I was more than happy.

Basically, the cushion inflates to fill the space between you and the seat in front of you. This creates a flat surface for toddlers to spread out on. It is perfect for babies and toddlers who need to sleep while flying. Even tall kids (like my four-year-old) can appreciate a leg up.
We have used our Kushi Cushion on 2 flights so far and I have to say we love this thing. My youngest is almost 2 now so I wish I had gotten it sooner! If I had one of these when I was a kid, I would have braved long-haul flights with my kids! (Not really, because I really hate jet lag)
Kushi Kids Cushion comes with a small drawstring backpack for storage. Since it is made of durable materials, it takes up some space in your luggage, so you should consider it. With a standard size bag, the Kushi Koshin (including the pump) takes up less than half of my bag. Since the cushion cannot be inflated during takeoff or landing, it does not deploy until the seat belt symbol is fastened. I used a hand pump and it took about two minutes to pump. A battery operated pump option is also available.

We used the Kushi Koshin Travel Pillow for Toddlers with our 4 year old (short) and she was tall enough to fully stretch the pillow. I think this pillow is a must for a long haul flight with a baby or toddler. My son can definitely sleep for hours in this position. I actually woke him up because he slept for 3 hours on the flight to Turkey and Caicos and I didn't want him to sleep through the night! Although this pillow does a great job, my son is not usually known as a "good sleeper" and often falls into the "terrible sleeper" category. Even if you don't plan on a long flight, this pillow has a few great features. If you have two small children (one sitting on your lap) this will give your little one extra space! I also like that the cushion prevents it from falling under the seat. My son loves to play with his cars and Legos on the plane, and we're always picking things up off the ground. When the Kushi cushion was inflated, my son was able to play with his Lego toys without constantly falling to the ground. Downloading Kushi Cushion is very easy! Just remove it and press it on the pillow before landing. Of course, I couldn't get it as flat as the original packaging, so hopefully it will take up a little more space in your luggage once it's on the way.

But if you need to fully inflate it, the design seems a little broken: a valve is in the pillow area, which can make it impossible to put your head on the plastic cap. However, an airline or hand pillow will solve this problem.

Even with a few token side restrictions, it is questionable whether it can prevent a child from being sidelined. However, it is useful when playing games; Prevent toys and crayons from leaving the set.
You may also need to get permission from your neighboring passengers, especially if the mother is sleeping on the mattress. They may be afraid that a wandering child's feet will trip over the pan of the dish or disturb a child who has fought desperately to sleep.
